COLUMBUS, Ga. | Georgia College & State University dropped a tight matchup against Columbus State University 1-0 in a Peach Belt Conference softball series opener Friday (March 13) evening at Cougar Field.

The Cougars improved to 14-7 overall and 3-1 in conference play, while the Bobcats fell to 6-10 overall and 1-3 in the Peach Belt. The teams close out the series with a 1 p.m. doubleheader Saturday (March 14).
