VALDOSTA, Ga. | Georgia College & State University tossed its second no-hitter of the baseball season as seven pitchers combined to defeat Valdosta State University 13-1 in seven innings Wednesday (April 15) evening at Billy Grant Field at Tommy Thomas Park.
The Bobcats improved to 17-23, while Blazers fell to 15-28. GCSU opens up a Peach Belt Conference weekend series against the University of South Carolina-Aiken with a 6 p.m. contest Friday (April 17) at John Kurtz Field.

It only took 46 days between no-hitters this time. When
Keaton Prior tossed an 11-0 seven-inning no-hitter against the University of South Carolina-Beaufort earlier this season, it was nearly 26 years to the day of the last no-hitter thrown in program history.
Harding Dennis,
Brian Lowry (1-0),
Walker Roberts,
Tams Mullins,
Davis Bargeron,
Bryceton Berry and
Charlie Capretta teamed up on the no-hitter. They struck out seven and worked around four walks and a hitter batter. The Bobcats only surrendered an unearned run in the seventh thanks to an error.
The GCSU batters weren't shabby either as they collected 16 hits as all but one starter had at least one hit. They also took advantage of 10 walks issued by the Valdosta State pitching corps.
Carson Vick and
Carson Phillips led the way with three hits apiece, while
Evan Cowan,
Blake Bellflower,
Cole Huddleston and
Rand Bestermann pulling in two hits each.
The Bobcats got all the runs they would need in the second inning as Phillips and Bellflower each as they had RBI singles. GCSU would add two runs in the fourth, four more in the fifth and closed out the seventh with five runs.
Luke Boone, Bellflower,
Tanner Patterson and Bestermann each smacked a double in the win. Boone and Bellflower each drove in three runs for the Bobcats, while
Keagan Baxter and Phillips had two RBI apiece.
Evan Cowan, Vick and Patterson also drove in a run for GCSU.
