ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. | Georgia College & State University opened up play Sunday (April 19) at the Peach Belt Conference Men's Golf Championship.
The Bobcats shot 309 on the par 72, 7,279-yard layout on the World Golf Village's King and Bear Course and is in eighth place after the first round. Georgia Southwestern State University, which is ranked seventh nationally, leads the field after a 280, six strokes clear of No. 18 University of South Carolina-Beaufort.
Andy Scott, who had four birdies on his scorecard, shot an one-under par 71 and is tied for 10th place.
Jack Hutcheson and Andree Lutjens are tied for 35th after shooting 79.
Matthew Rogers fired an 80 is in 38th place, while
Chase Blanton signed for an 81 and is tied for 39th.
GCSU will tee off its second round of the 54-hole tournament Monday (April 20) at 7:50 a.m. from the 10th hole.
