ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. | Georgia College & State University had its best round of the Peach Belt Conference Men's Golf Championship Tuesday (April 21) as they finished in eighth place.
The Bobcats posted a six-over par 294 in the final round on the par 72, 7,279-yard layout on the World Golf Village's King and Bear Course to complete the 54-hole tournament at 933. No. 7 Georgia Southwestern State University earned the league's automatic qualifier to the NCAA Division II Men's Golf Tournament by winning with an 859, nine strokes clear of No. 10 Columbus State University.
Andrew Lutjens and
Andy Scott tied for 27th for the Bobcats at 229. Lutjens, who had five birdies in the round, recorded a 3-under 69, while Scott, who tallied four birdies, finished with a 74 in the final round.
Chase Blanton also fired a 74 came in 35th place at 235, while
Jack Hutcheson signed for 79 and finished in 36th at 243. Senior
Matthew Rogers shot a 77 in his final round as Bobcat and came in 37th  place at 246.
Georgia Southwestern State's Sam Brown earned medalist honors with a 209 finish.
The Peach Belt Championship is the final tournament of the season for GCSU.
