MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. | Seniors Laura Almagro, Victoria Conde Vendrell, and Alisa Chiang share how the Georgia College & State women's tennis program has impacted them throughout the years.

The Bobcats take on Middle Georgia State University in a 9 a.m. quarterfinal match Friday (April 24) at the Peach Belt Conference Tournament in Columbus, Georgia.

Gomez, from Málaga, Spain, is an exercise science major and plans to stay in Milledgeville to pursue the master's of athletic training program at GCSU.

Almagro describes her time at GCSU.

"I think the program is incredible, with a really great culture, and more than just a tennis team, it has been a family to me over these four years," said Almagro. "These have been four very beautiful years that I would relive a thousand times."

She says tennis has taught her "the values of life, the friendships it gives you, to push myself every day, to be consistent, and above all, to live in the moment."

Conde Vendrell, a transfer from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, described her time at GCSU as amazing and a truly unforgettable experience.

"We pushed each other every single day, celebrated every victory together, and stood by one another through every challenge, no matter the situation," said Conde Vendrell. "We played with real pride for our school and for each other, always giving everything we had because we knew we were representing something bigger than ourselves."

Conde Vendrell is a psychology major from Paris, France, who plans to return to France post-graduation and earn a master's in sports psychology.

Her favorite moment is a combination of many moments.

"It is impossible for me to choose just one moment," said Conde Vendrell.  "Every single experience meant something—wins, losses, long bus rides, team bonding, practices, events, and everything in between."

Chiang, a mass communication major and rhetoric minor, originates from Taipei, Taiwan, and plans to pursue sports broadcasting in the U.S. post-graduation.

Her time at GCSU can be described as "one of the most meaningful experiences of my college life. I met people who made me feel like family," said Chiang.

Her parents inspired her to move to the U.S., study abroad, and broaden her perspective.

"They have always taught me to remain humble and eager to learn," said Chiang.

Almagro, Conde Vendrell, and Chiang will cherish the memories they made and the lessons they learned throughout their time at GCSU.
