MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. | Georgia College & State University women's basketball coach Catrina Green has announced the addition of Evie DePetro as an assistant coach for the Bobcats.

"We are thrilled to welcome Evie back to our program as an assistant coach," said Green. "I had the honor of coaching Evie in her last season of college basketball in the 2024-25 season. She volunteered within our program last season, and I was able to see firsthand the impact she could have from the sideline. She will be a great resource for our players and the campus community, and I am thankful we can bring a recent alum back to GCSU."

After playing four seasons at Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina, DePetro played her final season in 2024-25 at GCSU. She played in all 30 games, starting 17. DePetro helped lead the Bobcats to a 17-13 record, a fourth-place finish in the Peach Belt Conference and to the semifinals of the PBC Tournament. She was third on the team in scoring, averaging 8.8 points per game. She was the top outside threat for the Bobcats, connecting on 49 three-pointers. DePetro also grabbed 50 rebounds, 15 assists, and 10 steals.

"Since my first day walking into coach Green's office, I knew we would make a great team," said DePetro. "Although this is my first-year coaching, I know I am working under a head coach who shares my values on and off the court and who believes in me. Being an alumna of the program myself means the success of this program is not only my job now, but it also personal. I can't wait to get our girls back on campus and get to work on making it another championship season."

After her playing career, she spent last year as a volunteer coach for the Bobcats and was a graduate teaching assistant in the biological and environmental sciences department. DePetro earned her master's degree in biology from GCSU in May 2026. She had earned her bachelor's degree in biomedical science and communication studies.
