AUGUSTA, Ga. | The Peach Belt Conference preseason coaches poll as well as the all-conference team for men's basketball have been released.
 
Georgia College & State University junior guard C.J. Jones was named to the preseason All-PBC team. Jones, who is from Suwanee, Georgia, was named to the All-Peach Belt first team last season. Jones, who started all 26 games he played, averaged 16.5 points, 3.2 assists and 3.0 rebounds per game. Jones shot .438 from the floor last year and connected on .385 from three-point range. Jones led the Bobcats in scoring, assists and steals a year ago.

GCSU has been picked to finish eighth in the league. The Bobcats finished tied for fifth place in the conference last season. 

Lannder University, which won both the PBC regular season and tournament titles as they advanced to the NCAA Division II National Championship game, was the top pick in the poll as they collected nine first-place votes and 99 points, while Columbus State University collected a first-place vote and was second with 86 points. Flagler College, is in third place with 74 points and was followed by the University of North Georgia (69), the University of South Carolina-Beaufort (63), the University of South Carolina-Aiken (60), which received the other first-place vote, Augusta University (43), GCSU (42), Georgia Southwestern State University (37), Middle Georgia State University (20) and Clayton State University (12).

GCSU tips off its 2026-27 season Nov. 13 when they entertain Young Harris College in a 7:30 p.m. game inside the Centennial Center on the first day of the Bobcat Crossover Classic presented by Garbutt Construction.
