NEW ORLEANS, La. | The Georgia College & State University men's cross country team is ranked ninth in the preseason U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association preseason NCAA Division II Southeast Regional poll.
Regional rankings are determined subjectively by a single member coach in each respective region. The regional representative is tasked with weighing returning teams' strength with current season results (if applicable) in determining a rank-order of squad potential. Only USTFCCCA member programs are eligible to receive a ranking. Teams with provisional status within the region may be ranked.
GCSU is one of three Peach Belt Conference institutions inside the top 10. Flagler College is ranked third, while Auugusta University is fifth.
The Bobcats, who were ranked 10th in the final USTFCCCA regional poll in 2025, finished in third place at the PBC Championship last fall and came in ninth place at last year's NCAA Division II Southeast Region Championship.
The Bobcats open their 2026 campaign Saturday (Sept. 5) when they compete at the Julius Johnson Invitational hosted by Mercer University in Macon, Georgia, at 8 a.m.
