Matt Rogel

Matt Rogel continues on as a volunteer coach after serving as a graduate assistant for Georgia College’s Tennis teams.

Rogel’s success as a student reflects his success on the tennis court. In 2018-19, during just his first year at Georgia College, he was named an ITA Doubles All-American and earned a spot on the All-PBC First Team for doubles. Then, in 2021, he made the All-PBC Second Team in singles. He also represented Georgia College in 2019-20 and 2020-21 on the NCAA Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

Rogel’s first win as a Bobcat came on Sept. 28, 2018, shortly after he transferred to Georgia College. Since then, Rogel has seen much success during his time at GC both on the court and in the classroom. In 2018-19 he was designated as a PBC Silver Scholar. He was again named an ITA Scholar-Athlete in 2019 and 2020 while also earning a spot on the 2019-20 D2ADA Academic Achievement List. Finally, in 2021, he received a place on the PBC Team of Academic Distinction.

Rogel began his collegiate tennis career at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton where, in 2017, his team finished #3 in the nation. During his two seasons there, he was a two-time ITA Scholar-Athlete and named the NJCAA National and Regional Player to Watch from 2016-17.

Rogel is originally from Orvault, France where he attended high school at Lycée Nicolas Appert. His tennis career initially began in his hometown and flourished from then on. He played National Interclub with Don Bosco Tennis Nantes from 2014-19 where he was coached by Frederik Simon. Rogel graduated from Georgia College in 2020 and is now in his second year of graduate school, pursuing his Master’s in accountancy.
