Cathy Stevens was promoted to the Assistant Director of Athletics for Compliance & Student-Athlete Success in April 2024.  

She oversees all aspects of the NCAA compliance program for the Bobcats, is the point of contact for all NCAA matters, and coordinates the institution's process and procedures to ensure NCAA and Peach Belt Conference compliance. Stevens is the liaison between the NCAA and PBC offices regarding all legislative matters and coordinates the institution's rules education program to maintain a culture of compliance at GCSU.

She is also responsible for the oversight and implementation of the newly created Student-Athlete Development & Success program. This program is designed ensure each student-athlete is ready for life beyond athletics. She is also the Senior Woman Administrator, Student-Athlete Advisory Committee advisor, and Deputy Title IX Coordinator for Athletics. Stevens also serves on various university committees that includes the Drug-Free Schools and Community Act, and the GCSU APPLE Student-Athlete Substance Abuse and Misuse Committees. 

Stevens has worked for Georgia College & State University for 15 years. She came to the athletics department in 2021 in the combined role of administration manager and NCAA compliance officer. Prior to athletics, she served the university in various positions that include working in the Office of Legal Affairs.

Stevens is a double Bobcat graduating with a bachelor's degree in political science with a concentration in international affairs in 2009 and went on to receive a master's degree in public administration with a concentration in policy in 2012.

Stevens is married to husband Mark and has two children, a daughter (Nikki), and a son (Cameron). When not supporting the Bobcats, she enjoys activities and hobbies such as running, baking, crotchet and reading.
