Box Score MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The Georgia College
women's basketball team (18-6, 10-6 PBC) pulled off a 60-45
win at the University of Montevallo (9-16, 5-11 PBC) Wednesday
night. The Bobcats won despite 22 turnovers thanks to some solid
defense of their own.
Senior guard Chimere Jordan (Gray, Ga.) hit for
25 points with 17 rebounds, her 12th 20-plus scoring
game and fourth double-double of the season.
GC took control of the game with 17:34 remaining in the first
half, not surrendering the lead for the rest of the contest.
Freshman Abby Slocumb (Suwanee, Ga.) tallied a
career-high 13 points with nine rebounds. Slocumb scored eight in
the first half helping the Bobcats get the large first-half
advantage that they rode to victory. Guard Karisma Boykin
(Carrollton, Ga.) had a solid line of seven points, four
rebounds four steals and two assists.
GC shot 47 percent (22-47) from the floor, holding the Falcons
to just 29 percent shooting on 16-of-56. Davia Harris was the only
double-digit scorer for UM, putting in 10.
The 22 turnovers matches the most in a victory for the Bobcats
this season.
The Bobcats are back in action Saturday, Feb. 26 at 1:30 p.m.,
traveling to North Georgia to round out the regular season.
