#9 Bobcat Men Fly Past Saints, 6-3

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The No. 9 Georgia College men's tennis team (8-3, 3-2 PBC) recorded their second-straight victory Thursday at the Centennial Center Tennis Facility, beating Peach Belt Conference (PBC) foe North Georgia (3-4, 0-3 PBC) 8-1.

The 'Cats jumped out to a 2-1 lead after the doubles competition. Jerome Leborgne (Coordimanche, France) and Johan Wadstein (Helsingborg, Sweden) fell to Felipe Friedrich and Mateus Camasmie, 8-5. Leo Bernardes (Sao Paulo, Brazil) and Tyler Franks (Greensboro, Ga.) snuck past Giovani Santos and Adrien Saulais, 8-6. Tobias Rausch (Mannheim, Germany) and Robert Angelucci (Acworth, Ga.) downed Brandon Sloan and Ernesto Farinas, 8-2.

Leborgne played in the No. 1 spot and defeated Felipe Friedrich, 7-6, 6-3. Leborgne has now won three in a row. GC lost the next two singles matches. Wadstein fell to Camasmie, 6-3, 6-4 and Rausch was defeated by Santos, 7-5, 6-3.

Bernardes got the Bobcats back on track, toppling Saulais, 6-1, 6-2. Franks recorded another victory defeating Sloan, 7-6, 6-1. Wictor Andersson (Karlskoga, Sweden) closed out the day for the Bobcats downing Farinas, 6-4, 6-2. Andersson improves to 6-1 on the season.

The Bobcats will travel to No. 11 Lander University, March 11 for a 2 p.m. start.
