#9 Bobcat Men Pounce on Mountain Lions, 9-0

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The No. 9 Georgia College men's tennis team (7-3) rebounded with a win against Concord University (0-1) 9-0 at the Centennial Center Tennis Facility Tuesday, snapping a two-match losing streak.

The 'Cats powered to a 3-0 lead after doubles competition. Jerome Leborgne (Coordimanche, France) and Johan Wadstein (Helsingborg, Sweden) downed Diogo Monteiro and Leo Araujo, 8-5. Leo Bernardes (Sao Paulo, Brazil) and Tyler Franks (Greensboro, Ga.) toppled Felix Riba and Andrew Iruthayarajah, 8-2. Tobias Rausch (Mannheim, Germany) and Robert Angelucci (Acworth, Ga.) defeated Pierre Quinat and Cody Vinson, 8-1.

Wadstein played in the second slot but finished first for the men shutting out Araujo, 6-0, 6-0. Ruslan Bekoev (Sergut, Russia) played out of the No. 5 spot and finished second defeating Riba, 6-0, 6-0.

Mario Cardenas (Kennesaw, Ga.) routed Vinson, 6-0, 6-1 for his second victory of the season. Rausch played out of the No. 3 spot downing Quinat, 6-2, 6-3. Wictor Andersson (Karlskoga, Sweden) flew by Iruthayarajah in straight sets, 6-2, 6-1. No. 14 Leborgne played out of the one slot and wrapped up the match with a hard fought victory over Monteiro, 6-2, 7-5

The Bobcats will host North Georgia Thursday, March 10 for a 2 p.m. start.
