#26 Bobcat Women Fly Past #10 Flagler, 5-4

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The No. 26 Georgia College women's tennis team (16-7, 8-4 PBC) made it four straight wins as they edged past the No. 10 Flagler College Saints (10-5, 9-3 PBC) Monday afternoon, 5-4 at the Centennial Center Tennis Facility.

The Bobcats went up 2-1 after a huge tie-break win out of the No. 1 spot. Kayla Barksdale (Augusta, Ga.) and Bertille Lion (Lyon, France) played in that spot giving GC the doubles lead after defeating Lauren Pfeiffer and Rachel Gould, 9-8. The No. 1 pair is now 14-7 on the season. May Johnson (Sydney, Australia) and Michelle Lingner (Dunwoody, Ga.) dropped GC's first match of the day to Veronica Figueroa and Jennifer Saviano, 8-3.

Lisa Setyon (Paris, France) and Kelly Edwards (Roswell, Ga.) played out of the No. 3 spot for the 'Cats dropping Deon Miller and Gabby Scammacca, 8-5. The GC third doubles pair is 13-6.

Lion gave GC their third victory of the day toppling Pfeiffer in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2. Johnson won her three-set bout against Figueroa, 6-3, 4-6, 6-2. Barksdale dropped the first singles match for GC against Saviano, 6-3, 6-3.

Kim Lochner (Neu-Isenburg, Germany) played out of the fourth spot for the Bobcats, but dropped her battle to Miller, 6-4, 6-3. Setyon came up short in her battle against Gould, losing in three sets 6-7, 6-4, 10-4. Lingner finished off the day for GC trampling over Scammacca, 6-1, 6-0.

This ends the regular season for the Georgia College women. The Bobcats will play in the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Tournament, slated for April 15-17 at the Newman Tennis Center in Augusta, Ga., hosted by Augusta State University.
