GREENWOOD, S.C. – The No. 5-seeded
Georgia College women (13-9) upended No. 4-seed Flagler College
(9-9) in the quarterfinals of the Peach Belt Conference (PBC)
Tournament by a score of 5-1 Friday afternoon.
Georgia College grabbed a win at the second doubles spot from

Johnson (Sydney, Australia) and Leah Pridgeon
(Lawrenceville, Ga.) who defeated Krista Ingrilli and
Jennifer Saviano 9-8.
The All-PBC Second Team duo of Kayla Barksdale (Augusta,
Ga.) and Lisa Setyon-Ortenzio
(Paris) dropped their top doubles match 8-5 against Rachel
Gould and Barbora Sebkova.
The 'Cats would pick up the point at the third doubles position
by default to snatch a 2-1 lead heading to singles
action.
Michelle Lingner
(Dunwoody, Ga.) picked up a win by default at the sixth
singles spot, while Johnson won at the top position after Sebkova
was forced to retire.
Barksdale would clinch the match for the Bobcats with a
straight-set 6-1, 6-1 domination of Ingrilli at the fourth singles
slot.
The win propels Georgia College into the PBC semifinals where
they will square off with No. 1-seed Armstrong (20-0) Saturday
beginning at noon.
