DUE WEST, S.C. – Sweeping singles play, the No. 18 Georgia College men's tennis team (11-3) won its seventh-straight match Tuesday, taking down Erskine College (5-6) 8-1.

The Bobcats remain undefeated on the road at 6-0, and haven't lost a non-conference match since a 6-3 defeat to Saint Leo University Feb. 9.

The Bobcats took a 2-1 lead in doubles. Taylor Powell (Martinez, Ga.) and Alex Schubert (Frankfurt, Germany) picked up an 8-4 win in the second slot over Dean Harris and Alan Pearce.

Wictor Andersson (Karlskoga, Sweden) and Mattia Campus (Rome, Italy) teamed for the first time this season for an 8-1 domination of Robert Clarke and Aaron Twitty in the third spot. The lone loss came in first doubles, as Yannick Hass (Troisdorf, Germany) and Johan Wadstein (Helsingborg, Sweden) were edged 8-6 by Jack West and James Hoatson.

Powell got things rolling in sixth singles nearly shutting out Twitty 6-1, 6-0. Schubert followed suit in the third spot, downing Harris 6-0, 6-1.

Andersson clinched the team win in the fifth spot, beating Clarke 6-2, 6-3.

National No. 47 Wadstein, Hass and Campus helped the Bobcats finish the singles sweep. Wadstein beat West 6-1, 6-1 in the first spot, while Haas continued the domination at second singles over Wilson Mathewes 6-1, 6-2. Campus finished off the day with a fourth-singles win over Pearce by a 6-0, 6-2 score.

All told, the Bobcats surrendered just 14 games in singles play.
