DAHLONEGA, Ga. – The Georgia College women's basketball team (2-2) closed out their trip to the University of North Georgia with a 71-65 win over Stillman College (0-4) in the Nighthawk Classic Saturday.

Going into halftime the Bobcats trailed Stillman 34-30 after shooting just .385 from the field and logging five of their total seven turnovers for the game. With a strong second-half surge, headed by three straight scoring drives by senior Belinda Schaafsma (Momence, Illinois), the Bobcats took the lead with 16 minutes remaining and never looked back.

Schaafsma registered a career-best performance, netting 19 points and nine rebounds. Senior Enisha Donley (Loganville) led the Bobcats' scoring efforts with an astounding 24 points. She is now just 30 away from joining the 1,000-point club at Georgia College. Shanteona Keys (Roswell) rounded out the leading scorers with 14 points of her own.

The Bobcats' incredible ball control led to the tying of the single-game record for fewest turnovers, which last occurred in 2008. Sophomore LaRice Walker (Franklin) continues to crash the boards as well as run the offense, posting seven rebounds and five assists.

Even though the Bobcats were out-rebounded 46-37, their second-half shooting attempts were the difference maker in the game. Georgia College shot .480, draining 12-of-25 shots, as Stillman made just 11-of-35 shots for a .314 shooting percentage in the second half.

The Bobcats' next game will be their home opener Tuesday, Nov. 25 at 5:30 p.m. against the University of West Georgia.
