Bobcat Soccer Drops First PBC Contest on Road, 1-0

Box Score

AIKEN, S.C. – The Georgia College soccer squad (2-3-1, 0-1 PBC) traveled to USC Aiken (3-2-1, 1-0 PBC) for the first Peach Belt Conference (PBC) contest for both teams this season, the Bobcats falling by a 1-0 score Friday.

The strike came early in the first half at just over five minutes in, as the Pacers' leading scorer Hannah Allison notched her sixth goal of the season; just one off the PBC lead.

"We knew Allison was dangerous on set pieces and unfortunately we gave her the opportunity in the first half to capitalize," said Bobcat head coach Hope Clark. "We had the run of play in the second half but were unable to convert on our many chances."

Allison made good on a header off a corner from Tori Caldwell for the lone score.

Senior Annie Stephens (Fayetteville, Georgia) made five saves in six tries in the loss, giving her 175 on her career. Pacer goalkeeper Nicole Cranny made three stops for the win.

The Bobcats are back in action Wednesday, Sept. 24 at 7 p.m., battling Lander University in this year's Thunder Crew White-Out Night.
