Box Score ALBANY, Ga. – The Georgia College men's basketball team (5-1) avenged its only loss of the season thus far, blitzing Albany State University (1-2) 87-63 on day one of the ASU Holiday Classic.
The Bobcats knocked down 16 three pointers to control the length of the contest, the most since they hit 16 against Palm Beach Atlantic University in the 2012-13 season-opener.
Senior Ryan Blumenthal (Acworth) led Georgia College with 23 points, including seven three pointers. Classmate Dwight Anderson (Minneapolis, Minnesota) hit three from long range, finishing with 14 points, and freshman Chaz Berry (Fayetteville) added three of his own to score 12 points.
While not the scoring juggernaut he was, averaging 27 points per contest over the first five games this season, senior Terrell Harris (Indiantown, Florida) did fill the boxscore with nine points, and game-highs with nine rebounds and six assists. Freshman Trey Williams (Stone Mountain) scored the first points in his college career, finishing with four points and five boards.
The Bobcats out-shot ASU 48 percent (32-67) to 37 percent (23-62) thanks in large part to the 50 percent from long range (16-32). Georgia College also controlled the boards 45-33.
The Bobcats are back in action for day two of the ASU Holiday Classic tomorrow, Nov. 29 at 5:30 p.m., taking on Benedict College.
