TUSKEGEE, Ala. - The Georgia College women's basketball team (6-1) used a 19-point third quarter to catapult themselves to their sixth-straight win as the Bobcats blew past Tuskegee College (1-4) for a 60-46 win Monday night in Tuskegee.
The Bobcats were outstanding from three, led by Mckenna Rushton (Gainesville, Georgia) who was a scalding hot 6-of-8 from downtown. Rushton finished with a career-high 21 points, tying her for the game-high.
Meanwhile
Kadesha Gibbs (Claremont, North Carolina) was rock solid yet again for the Bobcats, ending the night with 16 points on 5-of-7 shooting and nine rebounds. Gibbs was just shy of her fourth straight double-double.
LaRice Walker (Franklin, Georgia) had a nice night as well, dishing out three assists and picking up nine points in 30 minutes of play in her return from a knee injury a few weeks ago against Fort Valley State University. Veronica Ryan (Clearwater, Florida) also put up a decent number in the assists column, leading the Bobcats with four on the night.
The Bobcats finished the night 9-for-20 from behind the arc for an impressive 45 percent shooting percentage. The barrage of threes put the Bobcats in the lead for 72.5 percent of the game over the Tigerettes.
The Bobcats will put their six-game winning streak on the line this Thursday in Milledgeville as they take on Clark-Atlanta University at 5:30 p.m. Gibbs picked up a NCAA-era school record 23 rebounds in a 74-67 win over Clark-Atlanta on Nov. 23 in Atlanta.
