#15 Bobcat Women's Tennis Takes Down #26 Concordia, 5-4

SAVANNAH, GA. – The No. 15 Georgia College women's tennis team (9-4) handed No. 26 Concordia College (11-1) its first loss of the season, as the Bobcats took down the Clippers 5-4.

Georgia College sent out Camille Clausse-Pujo (Bordeaux, France) and Kristen Jones (Marietta) who dropped the first doubles contest with a tough one to Concordia University's No. 5 Romana Tabak and Constanza Mecchi, 8-4. The Bobcats would bounce back at the number two doubles slot as Katie Krupp (Evans) and teammate Jenna Kelly (Lawrenceville) took the match against Huai-Hsuan Huang and Alla Kravchuk for the Clippers, 8-3. The final doubles contest featured Macy Polk (Powder Springs) and Hannah Serdinia (Suwanee) for the Bobcats, who defeated Linda Eliasson and Stefanie Canals-Bake in a 9-8 thriller.

Going into the singles contests, Georgia College had a two-to-one advantage. In the three slot saw Jones for the Bobcats winning in two sets against Kravchuk for the Clippers, 6-2, 6-1. Kelly would face Kravchuk at the fourth singles match, taking the contest in straight sets, 6-0, 6-3. Clinching the match for the Bobcats was Krupp in the sixth slot, facing Canals-Bake, downing the Clipper, 6-2, 7-5.

In the number one singles match was Claussee-Pujo taking on No. 5 Tabak, the Clipper would take the match 7-6, 6-3. The second singles match featured No. 28 Mecchi for Concordia taking on Macy Polk of the Bobcats, who managed to battle through three sets, dropping the game, 6-1, 4-6, 6-1. Georgia College would send Cristalei Polk (Powder Springs) out for the fifth singles slot to face Eliasson of the Clippers. Polk fought hard, but lost the bout 7-6, 6-2.

The Bobcats will be back in action tomorrow, as the host a doubleheader contest against UNC Pembroke and Clark Atlanta University. The match against the Braves is set for 10 a.m., while the second contest against the Panthers is set for 1 p.m.
