MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The No. 15 Georgia College tennis team (16-5, 11-2 PBC) had its regular season come to a close Tuesday, falling short in an upset bid to No. 9 Columbus State (18-2, 12-1 PBC) 5-2 at the Centennial Center Tennis Facility.

The Bobcats were down 2-1 after doubles action. The lone doubles victory came from the third slot, as Macy Polk (Powder Springs) and Hannah Serdinia (Suwanee) teamed for an 8-4 win over Elena Preadca and Olivera Tadijin. Serdinia and Polk are now 8-0 on the season.

In first doubles, Camille Clausse-Pujo (Bourdeaux, France) and Kristen Jones (Marietta) fell to Beatriz Leon and Camila Tobar 8-1, while the second slot featured an 8-3 loss for Katie Krupp (Evans) and Jena Kelly (Lawrenceville) to Kirsa Utech and Saravinder Pannu.

Kelly got her revenge, providing the lone Bobcat victory in fourth singles by controlling Tadijin 6-4, 6-0. Kelly improves to 11-4 in her rookie season. Clausse-Pujo dropped a pair of 6-1 sets to No. 11 Leon in first singles.

Polk couldn't get past Utech in the second slot 6-4, 6-3 and Jones fell in 6-3, 7-5 sets to Tobar in third singles. The defeat halts an eight-match win streak for GC Women's Tennis.

The Bobcats' 11-2 conference record gives them the No. 3-seed in the upcoming Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Tournament in Florence, South Carolina. Georgia College will start by taking on No. 6-seed Young Harris College in the opening round Friday, April 24 at 9 a.m.
