Box Score ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – Getting a career-best scoring performance from a senior guard, the Georgia College Men's Basketball team (14-4, 7-2 PBC) clobbered Flagler College (6-11, 2-7 PBC) 76-61 Saturday on the road.
The Flagler defense keyed on the Bobcats' leading scorer in Terrell Harris (Indiantown) holding him under his near-24 points per game average at 18 points. Senior guard Dwight Anderson (Minneapolis, Minnesota) made up for the lost scoring with a career-high 23 points, knocking down 8-for-14 from the field and 5-for-8 from long range. Anderson's previous high was 22 points against Clark Atlanta University Nov. 22, 2014.
Freshman Isaac Thomas (Trion, Georgia) joined the pair in double-digit scoring, adding 12 points and a game-best nine boards.
After some back-and-forth scoring in the early portion of the game, Harris made a layup with 8:35 left in the first half to give Georgia College a 15-14 advantage, one the Bobcats would never relinquish.
The Bobcats have now taken three in a row, and five of their last six. The Bobcats shot 46 percent from the floor (28-61) and 37 percent from long range (10-27).
With Harris' dunk at the 10:53 mark in the first half, he passed Tony Edmonson (1993-97) for sixth in GC scoring history. Passing Edmonson also makes Harris the third-leading scorer in the NCAA era of men's basketball at Georgia College. Harris finished the game with 1,048 points, 38 behind fifth place and Shaun Keaton (2006-09).
The Bobcats are back in action Saturday, Jan. 23 at the University of Montevallo, tipping off at 6:30 p.m. eastern. The Bobcats beat the Falcons 79-66 in Milledgeville earlier this month.
