Box Score Montevallo, Ala. – The Georgia College Soccer team (4-4-1, 1-4 PBC) was defeated in a hard-fought overtime battle at the University of Montevallo (4-6-1, 3-4-1 PBC) 1-0.
The Bobcats seemed to out-play the Montevallo Wednesday night, posting eight shots on goal compared to the Falcons' single shot which unfortunately decided the game.
Georgia College threatened in the final minutes of the second half when sophomore Ragnheidur Bjarnadottir (Gardabaer, Iceland) struck a rocket deep in Falcon territory that deflected straight down off the crossbar and cleared by the keeper.
This game was decided just 46 seconds in to the first overtime period when Alley Reeves crossed a flawless ball from the corner to the foot of Hannah Williamson who finished the assist into the top of the net.
The Bobcats played strong all night defensively but were taken down by a play that was near impossible to defend. It was a tough loss for the Bobcats in a such a sound defensive effort Wednesday evening, but were left tipping their cap to Reeves's game winning cross.
The Bobcats look to get back on track this weekend when they host Peach Belt Conference Opponent Georgia Southwestern University Saturday, October 15 at 3 p.m.
