Box Score MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Georgia College Soccer (2-0) improves thier 2016 season with a solid 2-0 victory over the Newberry College Wolves.
The Bobcats came out Sunday with limited rest after their home opener got pushed back to Saturday. This did not seem to affect the Bobcats one bit, coming out strong with 21 total shots on goal. They were led by a nicely placed cross from junior Sarah Miller (Duluth) who received the assist in sophomore Anya Mancinelli's (Atlanta) put away for a late first half goal.
The Bobcats added some insurance in the second half when junior Rahliat Animashaun (Baton Rouge, Louisiana) found some room in the open field and took it to the house for her first goal of the year.
A dominant defensive front was also key for the Bobcats, allowing only three shots on goal from the Wolves. Senior goalkeeper Jessica Catapano (Alpharetta) was credited with all three saves.
Catch the Bobcats back in action at home this Friday Sept. 9 at 7 p.m. against the Valdosta State University Blazers at the 2016 Bobcat Classic.
