MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – No. 11 Georgia College Men's Tennis (2-3, 1-2 PBC) dropped its final match of a three-game weekend to No. 4 Lander University (4-2, 3-0 PBC) Saturday.

Mattia Campus (Concorezzo, Italy) and Pedro Ecenarro (Santiago de Compostela, Spain) snagged the only Bobcat win for the day. The pair took down Lander's David Korsten and Elrik Groner in doubles action, 8-4.

Christian Graff (Lohmar, Germany) and Kyle Kinsler (Suwanee) had the tightest doubles match of the day, falling in the first line 9-7. Anton Waern (Taby, Sweden) paired up with freshman Nathan Connolly (McDonough) in the three spot. The match was back and forth at the start, but the Bearcats came out on top 8-5.

In singles, Graff finished first on court one against No. 46 Korsten. The two Germans battled it out, but eventually Lander came out on top, 6-3, 6-4. Waern finished next in the third spot against Groner. The Bobcat fought hard but fell 6-3, 6-0.

Ecenarro had an undefeated three-game weekend on the line in his second spot singles match against Jules Vauthier. Vauthier took the first set 6-4, but Ecenarro was able to split the action with a 6-2 win in the second set. The Lander Bearcat won the full third set, 6-3.

Campus, Kinsler and Connolly finished out the Bobcat singles matches in the fourth, fifth and sixth spot respectively. Omar El-Moslemany beat Connolly 6-0, 6-0, and Alexandre Springer stopped Kinsler at 6-0, 6-3.

Campus was the last man standing for the Bobcats' afternoon action. He faced Ozan Cildir on court one for an exciting match. Cildir got the better of Campus in the first set, winning 6-3, but the Bobcat fought back for a 6-4 win in the second set. Campus minimized an 8-4 10-point tiebreaker deficit, making the Bearcat fight for his win. Eventually, Cildir came out on top with a 10-7 win in the tiebreak.

The Bobcats are back in action at the Centennial Center Courts Friday, March 3. Georgia College hosts No. 6 Columbus State University at 1 p.m.
