MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – No. 19 Georgia College Women's Tennis (5-4) got its fifth win of the season against Concord University during the Make-A-Wish celebration day Wednesday. The Bobcats shut out the Mountain Lions at the Centennial Center Tennis Facility, 6-0. The Bobcats did not surrender a single game during the bout.
Jena Kelly (Lawrenceville) and Emma Niemi (Cumming) got the first win with an 8-0 win in No. 1 doubles against Taylor Dixon and Amy Ahren. Macy Polk (Powder Springs) and Hannah Serdinia (Suwanee) topped Stacy Puckett and Kaitlyn Kennedy in the second spot, 8-0.
In singles, Polk finished off Dixon in the first line with a couple of 6-0 sets, as Camilla Negrini (Milan, Italy) beat Ahren with the same results. Niemi took the No. 3 spot and downed Puckett 6-0, 6-0, and Kristen Jones (Marietta) got the last win for the Bobcats against Kennedy 6-0, 6-0.
The Bobcats are headed south for spring break. Next up, the ladies take on No. 21 Midwestern State University in Pensacola, Florida. First serve for that match is scheduled for Saturday, March 18 at 11 a.m.
