Bobcat Men's Tennis Shuts Out Emmanuel, 9-0

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College Men's Tennis team (5-3) picked up its third shutout of the season Tuesday, blanking Emmanuel College (5-8) at the Centennial Center Tennis Facility.

Doubles was a clean sweep, with Jannik Kumbier (Neumunster, Germany) and Robin Moller (Hamburg, Germany) getting it started in the first slot, 8-3 over Noah Johansen and Tom Jarry.

Pedro Ecenarro (Santiago de Compostella, Spain) and Enzo Kohn (Rio de Janiero, Brazil) beat Juan Carlos Romero and Enrique Alcacer 8-4 on the second line. Ecenarro and Kohn are now 5-0 this season.

Nathan Connelly (McDonough) and Gabriel Caron (Johns Creek) completed the sweep, pairing for the first time and getting an 8-6 win over Jorge Canadas and Lucas Pereira.

The first singles result came from the second slot, where Kumbier made short work of Johansen 6-0, 6-1. Ecenarro then clinched the team win by topping Jarry in two 6-2 sets. Moller beat Romero 6-1, 7-5 in the third line, and then Kohn took down Pereira by the same score in fourth singles.

Cole Heller (Woodstock) beat Alcacer 6-4, 6-3 in the fifth slot, then Caron finished the day 7-6, 6-3 in fifth singles over Canadas. Moller, Ecenarro, Kohn, and Kumbier are all tied for the team lead with six singles victories.

The Bobcats are back in action tomorrow, March 14 at 2 p.m. playing host to Concord University.
