Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College Softball team (24-10) finished off non-conference action with a sweep of Emmanuel College (12-18) 3-0 and 13-2 Friday at the Peeler Complex. The Bobcats now have posted wins in 13 of their last 14 games.

Game one was a pitchers' duel, with Jessie Morris (Vidalia) adding her second-straight gem. Morris (6-0) had her second shutout in as many days, and now owns a scoreless inning streak of 16 in a row. The freshman scattered nine hits and a walk, adding eight strikeouts.

The Bobcats got two runs in the second and another in the sixth to pull off the win, despite getting out-hit 9-4. Senior Holland Coursey (Sugar Hill) got the scoring started with a moon shot to right in the second, her second home run in as many days. She finished 2-for-2.

Game two was an offensive clinic by the Bobcats, pounding out 14 hits for 13 runs. Georgia College players touched the plate five times in the first, four more in the second, once in the third and three more times in the fourth to get the run-rule victory.

Offensive stars were aplenty in game two, led by a 4-for-4 effort from junior Caroline Snider (Tennille) with three runs and an RBI. Senior Deja Lester (Jacksonville) had two hits in three trips, including a double, scored once and drove in two. Senior Hannah Coursey (Sugar Hill) added a 4-for-4 game with two RBIs and two runs. In the leadoff spot, senior Baylee Hall (Hephzibah) scored four times.

Junior Kayla Price (Indian Land, South Carolina) had four innings of work, improving to 6-2 by allowing a single run on two hits with no walks. She struck out four. Classmate Becca Meade (Winder) got the last three outs in the fifth.

The Bobcats are back in action Saturday, March 7 at 1 p.m., playing host to USC Aiken for NFCA Strikeout Cancer Day.
