MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. — The Georgia College Soccer team (2-6, 2-6 PBC) faced nationally-ranked No. 4 Flagler College (5-0-1, 4-0-1 PBC) Monday but were unable to pull off the upset, falling 5-0 at Bobcat Field.

Bobcat goalkeeper Kate Richardson (Marietta) had a career-high, posting a total of 11 saves. She exceeded her prior record of six stops in a single match, most recently happening March 4 against Columbus State University.

The Saints started out hot, getting a pair of goals from Sarah Sandberg by the 16th minute. Hannah Dolores and Maddie Poole also scored to make it 4-0 at halftime.

In the second half, the Bobcats tightened the defensive clamps. Richardson made five saves in six tries in the second, the lone second-half score coming in the 75th minute from Liz Hall. The Saints uncorked 19 shots in the first half, and were held to just nine in the second.

The Bobcats attempted a total of eight shots, six of which were on target. Senior Kayla Ruiz (Milton) provided two of those shots on goal.

At No. 4, Flagler is the second nationally-ranked team the Bobcats have faced this season. The previous was a 1-0 overtime upset of No. 23 University of North Georgia Feb. 21.

The Bobcats are back in action Thursday, April 1 traveling to Clayton State University for a 6 p.m. kickoff.
