FLORENCE, S.C. – The Georgia College Baseball team (17-17, 15-15 PBC) fell victim to a big inning and couldn't recover Tuesday at Francis Marion University (16-16, 14-16 PBC), the Bobcats falling 13-5.

The Bobcats jumped out early, plating four runs in the first. GC got run-scoring singles from Noah Mendlinger (Alpharetta, Georgia) and Jay Saunders (Moultrie, Georgia) in the inning.

FMU put up seven runs in the third, taking over the game. The Patriots rattled out six singles in the inning, took advantage of one Bobcat error and four free passes, sending 12 hitters to the plate.  

One run came across in the fourth for GC, at the time cutting the lead to 8-5, but the Bobcats couldn't string anything together after that.

Reliever Forrest Wilson (Marietta, Georgia) took the loss (1-1) as he was one of three pitchers to take the mound in that big inning for the Patriots.

The Bobcats didn't have a single multi-hit performer, as eight different players reached the hit column. Saunders picked up a pair of runs batted in on his single in the first.

The Bobcats are back in action Friday, April 23 at 6 p.m., hosting Augusta University.
