Bobcat Soccer Falls to UNG 3-1, on Senior Night

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga- Georgia college & state university soccer (5-6-1, 4-3-1 PBC) took a tough 3-1 loss against The University of North Georgia (8-2-3,5-1-2 PBC), Saturday.

Prior to the contest the Bobcats honored six seniors on their respective careers. The first senior was the fifth year Alexis Bergamini (West Suffield, Connecticut), who has tallied six goals and eight assists in her career. The next senior was midfielder Summer Ligon (Carrollton) who has two goals to her name. Haley Titus (Savannah) was the next senior honored and she played in 30 career matches. Forward Ellie Watson (Newnan) was also honored as she has scored two career goals including a game winner. Defender Katelyn Smith (Augusta) has been an instrumental piece to the bobcat defense over her 36 games played. The final senior honored was goal keeper Kate Richardson (Marietta) who ranks third in school history in shutouts, wins and saves. 

 The Bobcats scored a single goal in the senior night contest coming off of a penalty kick. Ava Martin (Gainesville) took the kick for the bobcats and secured her fourth goal of the season.

 Richardson got the senior day start in the goal for GCSU. She had five saves out of eight shots on goal. 

 The Bobcats are back in action Wednesday oct. 19 against USC Aiken (5-3-4, 3-3-3 PBC) for the tailgate tour. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. with the tailgate starting at 3 p.m. If you can't make it to bobcat field live stats and broadcast links will be available at GCBobcats.com.
