MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga.- Georgia College & State University Women's Soccer (5-7-3, 4-4-2 PBC) ended their final regular season contest with a 1-1 tie against Lander University (6-4-6, 4-2-2, PBC), Saturday night.

The GCSU offense got off to a slow start in the first half only getting off three shots. After the half the Bobcat offense came alive and doubled their first half shot count. Sarah Mason (Atlanta) led the offense scoring the only goal for the blue and green while having two shots on goal. The Bobcat offense got the ball into Lander territory and were able to maintain possession outside of the goalkeeper box. Veteran forward Alexis Bergamini (West Suffield, Connecticut) had possession and made the pass to Mason on the outside to line up the shot from 30 yards out and reach the netting.

Senior goalkeeper Kate Richardson (Marietta) continued her already impressive season nabbing nine saves on 10 shots on goal. The Bearcat offense was a tough one to defend as they got off 23 shots with 11 on goal. Katelyn Smith (Augusta) commanded the back line of the Bobcat defense and covered the left side of the goal when Richardson was pulled to the right corralling a save.

The Bobcats have concluded the regular season and are now headed into the Peach Belt Conference Tournament. Location, opponents, time and dates are still to be determined with the top two seeds to host. Stay tuned to GCBobcats.com as details about the postseason are released.
