Bobcat Men's Cross Country Runs to Third-Place Finish at Home Meet

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Taking third as a team and landing three runners in the top-10, the Georgia College & State University Men's Cross Country team hosted the annual Georgia College Invitational Saturday at the beautiful Council Farm Course.

The Bobcats finished with just 49 points, 10 off the lead. The University of West Alabama won the team title with 39, and UT Southern finished second with 40.

Sophomore Philip Bulatao (Brunswick) led the Bobcats for the third time this season, taking third overall in the 60-runner field, finishing the 8K in 26:14. Freshman Caleb Carter (Martinez) posted a personal record 26:32, good for fifth place. Rounding out the top-10 finishers for GCSU was sophomore Caiden Curtis (Harlem) in eighth at 26:53, a personal-best for Curtis as well.

"Our team strategized with our coach," said Bulatao. "Start off slow and see what you have left at the end. See if you can kick it. We pushed through and worked as a team."

Freshman Evan Rehrauer (Hamilton) took 11th place at 27:01, and sophomore Sam Hulsey (Dawsonville) rounded out the scoring finishes in 22nd at 28:11.
