BEECH ISLAND, S.C. – The Georgia College & State University Men's Cross Country team took fourth place at the 2022 Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Championship Saturday, led by an All-PBC finish from sophomore Philip Bulatao (Brunswick, Georgia).
The Bobcats tallied 118 team points, 28 behind third-place Columbus State University and 26 ahead of Young Harris College.
Bulatao earned the first All-PBC honor in his career, finishing 12th overall in the 8K race with a 26:03. Bulatao was also named to the PBC All-Sportsmanship Team.
Second on the team and 32nd overall in the 77-runner field was freshman Caleb Carter (Martinez, Georgia), undaunted in his first postseason with a 27:30 time. Sophomore Caiden Curtis (Harlem, Georgia) was next for the Bobcats, running a 28:00, good for 36th place.
Another rookie came in fourth for GCSU, as Evan Rehrauer (Hamilton, Georgia) was 40th in 28:16. Rounding out the scoring finishes for the Bobcats was sophomore Sam Hulsey (Dawsonville, Georgia) in 42nd place at 28:22.
Host Augusta University won the team title with just 15 points. The Jaguars' Kai Brickey won individual honors as well with a time of 25:03.
The Bobcats are back in action Saturday, Nov. 19 at the NCAA Southeast Regional in Charlotte, North Carolina.
