MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. | Columbus State University picked up a 3-1 Peach Belt Conference women's soccer victory over Georgia College & State University Saturday (Oct. 14) on Senior Day Saturday (Oct. 14) afternoon at Bobcat Field.

Columbus State improved to 7-3-1 overall and to 5-0-1 inside the league, while GCSU fell 6-5-2 and 3-3-1. The Bobcats close out their homestand Wednesday (Oct. 18) with a 3 p.m. non-conference match against Tusculum University.
The Cougars opened the scoring at the 9:49 mark on a goal from Lauren Barnes, who slotted the ball in at the right post off a cross from Emma Beddow. CSU doubled its lead on an own goal 16 minutes later.
Columbus State scored its final goal nine minutes into the second half on Abigail Akerson's unassisted strike.
Georgia College scored its goal with 69 seconds left on a header from
Sydney Charles in the box off a cross from
Sarah King. It was Charles' second goal of the season.
CSU held a 24-7 margin in shots, including a 13-3 edge on goal. Columbus State had seven corner kicks compared to the three for the Bobcats.
Georgia College had 11 saves, including a career-high 10 from
Madison Drake, in goal.
