MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. | Georgia College & State University shut out Tusculum University 3-0 in a non-conference women's soccer match Wednesday (Oct. 18) afternoon at Bobcat Field.
The Bobcats improved to 7-5-2 and will return to Peach Belt Conference action with a 4 p.m. contest Saturday (Oct. 21) against in University of North Georgia in Dahlonega, Georgia.
GCSU, which doubled up the shots over Tusculum 18-9, took a 1-0 lead when
Zelia Griffith curled in a corner kick from the left side with 3:33 left before intermission. It was Griffith's second strike of 2023.
The Bobcats doubled up their lead on a
Adriana Duque penalty kick at the 62:36 mark after a GCSU player was pushed inside the box. It was the first goal of the season for Duque.
Mia Palumbo closed out the scoring for Georgia College as she scored on another Bobcat set piece six minutes later. Palumbo's fourth goal of the year was a header that ricocheted in off the crossbar that was set up my
Carter Drake's corner kick from the right side. GCSU had seven corner kicks in the match, compared to none for the Pioneers.

Kassidy Fortin notched her second shutout of the season as she turned away five shots in GCSU's third clean sheet of the season.
