GREENWOOD, S.C. | Lander University picked up a 3-0 Peach Belt Conference women's soccer victory over Georgia College & State University Saturday (Oct. 28) afternoon at Van Taylor Stadium.
The Bearcats improved to 10-4-2 overall and to 5-2-2 in the Peach Belt, while the Bobcats fell to 8-7-2 and to 3-5-1. Both teams have earned berths to the PBC Tournament which gets underway Nov. 6. The tournamnent bracket will be released by the conference office Monday (Oct. 30).
Lucy Bova gave the Bearcats a 1-0 lead in the 13th minute, while Alarie Hodge and Ronnie Llewellyn added insurance goals in the second half.
Lander outshot Georgia College 15-10, including an 8-1 edge on goal. Both teams had a corner kick each.
Kassidy Fortin tallied five saves in the GCSU goal.
