Bobcats toppled at Flagler in three

St. AUGUSTINE, Fla.- The Georgia College & State University volleyball team suffered a road loss to Flagler College in a Peach Belt Conference match Friday (Oct. 6) evening in Flagler Gym.

The Saints improved to 4-12 overall and to 2-3 in conference place, while GCSU fell to 10-9 and 0-5. The Bobcats are back in action Saturday (Oct. 7) at 2 p.m. to wrap up the two-game series with Flagler. 

The Bobcats tumbled in the first set falling 25-16 and taking a second set loss 25-11. GCSU put up a fight in the final set taking a four point loss at 25-21. 

Rachel Machovec led the team in kills and digs with seven and 10, respectively. Camryn Carlton and Cadence Spilotros had the second most kills on the team as they both added three. Riese Johnson led the setting as she accounted for 13 of the 16 total by the team. Johnson nabbed the second most digs on the team with six. 

Olivia Alvarez and Ella Harper had the third most digs on the team as they both had five on the night. At the net, the Bobcats had one solo block and 10 block assists. Brooke Roberts led the blocking effort with a solo block and three block assists. Rosa Fisher and Johnson added four block assists as they both had two.
