AUGUSTA, Ga. | The Georgia College & State University women's basketball team was picked ninth in the Peach Belt Conference preseason coaches' poll.
The Bobcats received 24 points in the poll, beating out the University of South Carolina-Beaufort, which had 10 points. GCSU finished just under Flagler College, which received 26 points.
The University of North Georgia took home the No. 1 spot by a wide margin, picking up 81 points and eight first-place votes. Columbus State University finished in second with 61 points, while the University of South Carolina-Aiken claimed the third spot with 59 points.
GCSU will look to improve upon the 15-14 overall and 7-11 PBC finishes from the 2022-23 season. They tip off the new season with an exhibition contest at Georgia Tech Thursday (Nov. 2) at 7 p.m. in Atlanta.
