Bobcats downed by Saints on senior day 3-0

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga.- The Georgia College & State University volleyball team fell to Flagler College Saints in three sets in a Peach Belt Conference matchg on senior night Saturday (Nov. 11) afternoon at the Centennial Center.

GCSU fell to 14-16 and 1-11 in the conference, while the Saints improved to 7-18 and 4-8 in conference play. GCSU and Flagler wil play again Tuesday (Nov. 14) in the first round of the Peach Belt Conference Tournament. 

All six Bobcat seniors saw the court tonight. Senior outside hitter Rachel Machovec  led the team with 14 kills on the evening. Senior outside hitter Callie Miller was the only other Bobcat with double digit kills having 12. Abby Infante, the senior middle blocker, had the third most kills with five. Riese Johnson accounted four 31 of the 34 Bobcat assists on the evening. 

Two players had double digit digs and two were knocking at the door. Machovec led the team with 14 and Johnson had the second most with 10. Miller and Olivia Alvarez added eight each. Senior right side, Kyeli Hazzard, had four to round out the digs. The Bobcats had four block assists and a solo block against the Saints. Senior middle blocker, Mary Kate Kotzin, had the lone solo block and a block assist. She also had two kills. Infante led the block assists with two and senior middle blocker, Brooke Roberts, had the last block assist.
