Rigsbee's double double leads GCSU to 76-62 win over Warriors

CENTRAL, S.C. | Brendan Rigsbee had a double double to lead Georgia College & State University past Southern Wesleyan University 76-62 in a non-conference men's basketball game Wednesday (Nov. 29) evening at Tysinger Gymnasium.

The Bobcats, who are tied for sixth in the latest Southeast region in the D2CSC Media Poll, improved to 6-0, which is the best start for GCSU since the 2008-09 season. Georgia College, which plays its first 11 games of the season on the road, returns to action Wednesday (Dec. 6) with a 7 p.m. contest against Emmanuel (Ga.) University in Franklin Springs, Georgia. The Warriors remained winless in six starts.

Rigsbee led the Bobcats with 24 points and 10 rebounds - one off his career highs in both categories - as Georgia College led for all but three minutes. Rigsbee hit 6-of-9 attempts from the floor and was 11-of-13 from the charity stripe. He also recorded two blocked shots.

GCSU led 39-25 at the half as extended its lead to as many as 21 points (55-34) after Richard Crawford III, who scored nine points and added four rebounds and three assists, nailed a three-pointer with 12:58 remaining.

Ian Davis was the other Bobcat to finish with double figures as he scored 13 points. Zyair Greene added eight points, while Austin Sloan contributed seven points, six rebounds and three assists. Brady Spence grabbed eight rebounds, while Jake Mooney tallied seven.
