MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga.- The Georgia College & State University Women's Basketball brought Emmanuel (Ga,) University to town and took them down in their second face-off of the season 62-57 Wednesday (Nov. 29) evening at the Centennial Center,
GCSU improved to 5-2 while Emmanuel fell to 3-4 on the season. The Bobcats return to action Dec. 7 at 10:30 a.m. for an Education Day contest against 12th-ranked University of Tampa.
The Bobcats had two shooters in double digits on the evening in
Ashyia Willis and
Jaleah Storr. Willis led the offense with 12 points as she shot 100 percent behind the three point arc and went 4-for-4 at the free throw line. Storr was the teams second leading scorer with 10 points as went 2-for-4 behind the arc and 2-for-2 from the stripe.
Dashaun Jackson iced eight points on the evening going 4-for-7.
Cierra Foster knocked down six points with three field goals and she led the team in assists with five.
GCSU out rebounded the Lions 45-34 on the night.
Jada Warren and Jackson led the effort both nabbing eight. Warren had five under the Bobcat bucket with two put back lay ups for her four points on the night. Jackson had six defensive rebounds having the most well rounded performance for the Bobcats.
Alexa Geary rounded out the rebound leaders with six with five coming under the Lions basket.
Every player that played a minimum of 10 minutes in the contest recorded at least one point and one rebound.
