Bobcats stunned at USCA, 3-0

AIKEN, S.C.- Georgia College & State University Volleyball took a tough three set loss to the University of South Carolina-Aiken. 

GCSU fell to 14-15 and 1-10 in the conference while USCA improved to 16-9 and 4-8 in conference play. The Bobcats put up a battle in the first set falling 25-22. The second set was more in favor of the Pacers at 25-16 and the third set was taken by USCA 25-22. The Bobcat will return to action Saturday, Nov. 11 at 5 p.m. in the Centennial Center as the six seniors are honored for senior night. 

Rachel Machovec led the offense with eight kills. Rosa Fisher had the second most with five while Abby Infante was right behind her having four good for the third most. Riese Johnson led the setting effort picking up 21 of the 23 team assists. 

The Bobcats were busy on defense with a team total of 49 digs. Two players picked up double digits digs as Machovec had 12 and Johnson had 11. Libero Olivia Alvarez had the third most with seven. Mary Kate Kotzin led the blocking effort picking up three of the team's six block assists. Brooke Roberts had the lone solo block of the match for the Bobcats.
