Bobcat Men's Hoops Sufferers Tough Home Loss to the Pacers, 83-59

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga.- Georgia College & State University Men's Basketball (7-15, 3-10, PBC) took a tough 83-59 loss to USC Aiken (16-7, 9-4 PBC), Wednesday night. 

GCSU took the early lead on a three-point bucket from Ian Davis (Lawrenceville) on the opening play of the game. Austin Sloan (Warner Robins) added a field goal to bring the lead to 5-0. For the remainder of the first half, the Bobcats and the Pacers went tit-for-tat trading buckets back and forth as GCSU trailed 29-25. Brendan Rigsbee (Suwanne) kicked off the second half scoring for Georgia College with a two-point jump-shot. The Pacers scored several back-to-back baskets in between Bobcat baskets to give them the upper hand and get the 83-59 win. 

There were two double-digit scorers on the night for the Bobcat offense. Davis led the scoring effort nabbing his career high of 19 points. He went 6-for-11 from field goal range including 2-for-2 from behind the arc. Rigsbee rounded out the double-digit scoring with 16 points. He went 5-for-12 from the floor and added an impressive 6-for-9 from the free-throw line. 

There were no double-digit rebounders on the night for the Bobcats. Both Brandon Thomas (McDonough) and Rigsbee had five. Between the two nine of their rebounds came under the Pacer basket. 

The Bobcats are back in action Saturday, Feb 11 on the road at Georgia Southwestern State University. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. with live stats and broadcast links available at GCBobcats.com.
