#9 GCSU Women's Tennis Runs Through Spring Hill, 7-0

MOBILE, Ala. – Posting their third-straight shutout and fifth overall this season, the No. 9 Georgia College & State University Women's Tennis team (10-1) won at Spring Hill College (4-7), 7-0 Monday.

The Bobcats won all three doubles bouts. Emma Fleming (Suwanee, Georgia) and Chiara Santoro (Santa Ursula, Spain) won by shutout at the first slot over Emma Koch and Danielle Day.

Third doubles was another Bobcat shutout, as Sofia Shing (Auckland, New Zealand) and Shradha Chhabra (New Delhi, India) beat Emmie Gage and Natalia Barron. Shing and Chhabra are now 10-1 as a pair this season. Second doubles was over quick as well, seeing Ashton Morrison (Cumming, Georgia) and Jada Young (Hilton Head Island, South Carolina) beating Paola Marin Sabao and Alicia Wilson, 6-2.

Shing brought in the first singles point, beating Koch with 6-1 and 6-0 scores on the top line. Fourth singles finished next, as Santoro blanked Day, running Santoro's singles mark to 10-0. Next came another shutout, this time in third singles as Fleming clinched the team victory over Brooke Herrin. Fleming, Shing and Chhabra each have nine singles wins this season.

Fifth singles saw Morrison top Wilson 6-1, 6-0. In the second slot, Young beat Marin Sabao 6-0, 6-1. The day came to a close in sixth singles, as Chhabra completed the sweep with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Barron.

The Bobcats are back in action Wednesday, March 22 at 2 p.m., hosting Augusta University.
