Box Score CENTRAL, S.C. – Both teams had their hitting shoes on Tuesday, as Georgia College & State University Baseball (8-12) lost at Southern Wesleyan University (10-13) 15-14 in 12 innings.
Combining for 32 hits and 20 walks for 29 runs, the Warriors won the game with a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the 12th.
Rightfielder Brandon Bellflower (Milledgeville, Georgia) got the Bobcats going with a grand slam in the first inning. He finished 4-for-7 with six RBIs and two runs, including the home run and two doubles. The round-tripper was his second this season and 14th in his career.
Shortstop Palmer Sapp (Dawsonville, Georgia) was 3-for-6 with three runs and a double. Third baseman Gabriel Weurth (Woodstock, Georgia) also had three hits and scored once.
Designated hitter Baylin Moore (Albany, Georgia) had a 2-for-4 game, scoring three times and driving in two more. Catcher Trey Ham (Perry, Georgia) added a pair of hits in four trips, scoring once and driving in another.
The Bobcats used six pitchers, the Warriors 11. Freshman righty Lex Kenny (Canton, Georgia) was tagged with the loss (0-1) despite being the longest-tenured pitcher for GCSU on the day at 3 2/3 innings. He allowed a single run on three hits and three free passes, fanning four.
The Bobcats are back in action Friday, March 17 at 6 p.m., hosting Augusta University.
