MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. | Georgia College & State University and the University of West Georgia battled to a 1-1 draw in a non-conference women's soccer match Tuesday (Sept. 12) evening at Bobcat Field.
The Bobcats improved to 2-1-1, while the Wolves slipped to 0-1-2. GCSU hits the road Sunday (Sept. 17) for a noon Central time match against Christian Brothers University in Memphis, Tennessee.
UWG opened the scoring just over eight minutes remaining before the half as Judith Leon-Juarez scored off a Florence Pegrum assist. The Bobcats leveled the match nine minutes into the second half as
Amanda Dewey scored her second match of the season. Dewey collected a loose ball near the left post and put it into the right corner of the goal.
Georgia College outshot the Wolves 9-8, including a 9-4 margin in the second half. GCSU goalkeeper
Madison Drake stopped four shots.
