MEMPHIS, Tenn. | Christian Brothers University used an early goal in the second half and held on for a 1-0 non-conference women's soccer victory over Georgia College & State University Sunday (Sept. 17) afternoon at Signaigo Field.

The Buccaneers improved to 2-2-2 overall, while the Bobcats slipped to 2-2-1. GCSU opens up its Peach Belt Conference schedule Wednesday (Sept. 20) at 6 p.m. when they face the University of South Carolina-Beaufort at Bobcat Field.

CBU scored the lone goal at the 50:30 mark as Flavia Iorio headed home a corner kick from Cammie Jernigan.

Georgia College outshot Christian Brothers 8-7 and the shots on goal were tied at 3. The Bobcats also collected more corner kicks than the Buccaneers 5-2. Madison Drake posted two saves in the GCSU goal.
