Six double-figure shooters pave the way for Bobcat's win over the Saints, 87-75

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. | Georgia College & State University Women's Basketball team takes down Flagler College in the Centennial Center, 87-75.

GCSU improved to 8-6 on the season and 2-2 in Peach Belt Conference play. Flagler fell to 6-8 on the season and 1-3 in the conference. Georgia College return to the Centennial Center Wednesday, Jan. 17 at 5:30 p.m. to take on the University of South Carolina-Beaufort. 

The Bobcat offense started hot and never let up scoring more than 20 points in every quarter against the Saints. GCSU did a fantastic job of moving the ball around as six players scored double-digits on the afternoon. Alexa Geary led the scoring effort with 15 points on the day shooting 50 percent from the floor including a 3-for-7 performance form long range. Hannah Cail and Dashaun Jackson both iced 13 points against the Saints. Cail knocked down five baskets and went 100 percent from the free throw line. Jackson went 50 percent from field goal range knocking down her season high of 13 points. Myra Strickland and Miracle Parker both banked 12 points each on the afternoon. Strickland had a 4-for-9 outing as well as a 75 percent day from the free throw line. Parker had a superb game netting her season 12 points on her 5-for-7 day. Ashyia Willis rounded out the double digit scoring with 11 points including five buckets from field goal range. Cierra Foster led the team in assists with five while Willis and Parker added four apiece. 

GCSU out rebounded the Saints 45-38. Jackson nabbed her first double-double of the season as she led the team in rebounds with 14. Jackson dominated in the paint with 10 of her boards coming under the Flagler basket. Jada Warren had the second most rebounds on the afternoon with 12. She also had a majority on the defensive side of the ball with nine. Geary and Parker both had four boards good for the third most rebounds.
